David training in Kent

David runs the Northcliffe Newspapers South West Training Academy set up in September 2006 which trains both seniors and juniors in a variety of skills including sharper reporting, law, local and central government, news editing, sub-editing, interviewing techniques and refresher courses prior to both the NCTJ preliminary exams and the National Certificate exam.

The Academy trains staff on the following newspapers:

The Academy has been so successful that Northcliffe's South East titles have replicated it in Kent and Essex under the management of Faith Lee with David running most of the training courses.
