David Scott offers a comprehensive range of journalism training across every subject. He set up his own company in 1988 and since then has worked for more than 200 UK regional daily and weekly newspapers as well as a number of papers abroad.

Most of his work is done in-house, but he offers a number of external training courses open to anyone throughout the year. He is a working journalist who now teaches having started as a junior reporter on his home weekly paper in Lancashire straight after leaving school and progressing on to become sports editor, deputy editor and finally editor of a number of newspapers. After setting up and launching the Birmingham Daily News in 1984 he became Managing Director of that company and a number of weekly titles prior to starting his own company.

David is a great believer in teachers also being doers - he keeps up to date with what is going on at the sharp end through his consultancy work which includes analysing a wide range of newspapers for their content, sharpness, variety and design. This consultancy work has been carried out both in the UK and abroad.

David does most of the training himself but does call upon recognised trainers and editors to help him on some courses. He makes use of a variety of training videos.
